*
You may not know the weight you gained
Once you entered my mind.
You overpowered all the rest
And made them step aside,
Making room. For your overbearing
Rule over my own soul
Would not stand for anything less,
Insisting on control.
You ate the fabric of my life.
Devouring each thread
With incessant larval bites.
Your hunger left me dead.
Digesting life to make the wings
Upon which you now soar...
You left my carcass. Its ghost sings.
Rid of you evermore.
